UnknownThe collection contains records relating to Take Root, the self-build group which existed from 1993 to the early 2000s. It contains meeting, finance and administration papers, correspondence, construction plans, press cuttings, publications and photographic and audio-visual materials. Because Take Root worked with several other organisations in Glasgow and Scotland, the collection contains meeting papers of Molendinar Park Housing Association and press cuttings and publications of various self-build projects including the Walter Seagal Self-Build Trust, Community Self-Build Scotland, and Centre for Alternative Technology.
Take RootThis series contains materials created by other organisations that were collected and used by Scottish Women's Aid during their activities and functions. Materials relate to domestic abuse, violence against women/gender based violence, women's groups and centres, child welfare, poverty, housing, the law, and education. The series include newsletters, magazines, leaflets, booklets, annual reports, and government documents and policy information.
This series contains the film created for Scottish Women's Aid's 30th anniversary, as well as 25 VHS tapes created and/or collected by Scottish Women's Aid. There are two tapes of Scottish Women's Aid training sessions while the rest of the tapes contain news items or documentaries relating to domestic abuse and violence against women that were recorded from television and used by staff members and volunteers.
Scottish Women's AidDuring the course of the Speaking Out: Recalling Women's Aid in Scotland project (2016-2017) eight interview were conducted with women involved in the Women's Aid movement in Scotland for a documentary to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the organisation.
