This includes materials from the Walter Seagal Self Build Trust, Community Self-Build Scotland, Centre for Alternative Technology and several other organisations. The types of material include publications, pamphlets, leaflets and information packs.

Subseries of Take Root’s construction records. This includes construction plans and floorpans.

Series contains meeting, construction and finance papers, correspondence and administration records. It also contains Molendinar Park Housing Association’s meeting papers as well as correspondence with Scottish Homes, Community Self-Build Scotland and other organisations.

Newspaper cuttings of Take Root features and articles. This includes cuttings from The Times, Evening Times, Daily Mail, The Sun, The Herald, Daily Record, The Glaswegian, The Sunday Times, The Sunday Herald, The Scotsman, The Guardian, and Scotland on Sunday.

Correspondence to and from Take Root. This includes letters from Take Root promoting the project, organising meetings and training, and correspondence from members. Also included is correspondence to Take Root from students, concerning their dissertations, new membership queries and organisations wishing to work with the group.

Correspondence from Scottish Homes, the National Housing Agency. This concerns self-build projects, guides to self-building, regulations and policies.
