This series contains draft copies of many of Barbara's literary works, including Patterns, Gennis, The Threshing Floor, Trooping of the Colour, Elysian Fields, Dreen, Finders Keepers, Martha, The Way She Walks, A Widow Born and a collection of Poetry.

Patterns

This file contains one bound draft copy of Barbara's play Patterns, and some loose pages from drafts of the play. Patterns is a play that examines women's labour. It was commissioned by Changing Women’s Theatre, and performed in 1984 at the Drill Hall Theatre in London.

Character Profiles

This is a compilation of character profiles that Barbara created for each character within the play Patterns.

The Way She Walks

This subseries contains one copy of the Way She Walks, a short story about two best friends, Penny and Jenny, who are in love with the same woman. While it is not signed by Barbara, it explores themes common in much of her work and the corrections are in a hand that resembles hers.

A Widow Born

This subseries contains one copy of Barbara's A Widow Born, one of Barbara's unpublished works. The text is quite sizeable, however, there does seem to be pages of this copy missing.

Gennis

This file contains various copies of Barbara's Gennis, a piece of prose fiction about a young man named Taiyot and the journey he goes on following the death of his mother.

Second Draft

This draft copy is annotated by Barbara. Includes notes for revisions to be made on the next draft.
