This series incorporates items and records from Dorothy Dick's time as a nurse and ambulance driver. Dorothy passed her driving test in 1939 and was added to the list of St. Andrew's Ambulance drivers in Glasgow. This group helped respond during the air raids of World War II. This series includes documents relating to her career as well as several different manuals.

This voucher is a certificate that proved that Dorothy Dick passed her second examination in nursing. Usually, she would have received a bronze medallion, but because of limited supplies, she received a certificate that could be exchanged for a medallion "after cessation of hostilities."
