History
Clydebank Women's Aid was founded in 1981 out of a group of local women who had been involved in a Women's Health Day in Faifley. For the first two years, the group operated a phone line service to provide support for women experiencing domestic abuse. In 1983, they secured funding which allowed them to open their first refuge.
