'Notts Women Strike Back' originally made as a fund raising video for Welbeck Women's Action Group. Shows the work of one of the women's action groups formed at the start of the recent coal dispute to support the minority of striking miners in Nottingham.
The Well Women Centre is run by women for women. We aim to provide a quality, 'needs led' service promoting positive health care for women, by offering a range of health information, education and supportive services.
Our councellors work within the code of Ethics and Practice of the British Association for Counselling. All our counsellors have full CRB clearance.
The campaign for a Well Women Centre in the Wigan Borough began in 1988.
Limited funding was made available through the Urban programme to set up and run a Well Women Centre based in Leigh and the doors of the Centre opened in May 1992.

Is the international, non-governmental, 501(c)(3) organization that is the custodian of The AIDS Memorial Quilt and its associated document and media archive. As a 501(c)(3) organization and in accordance with our by-laws, The NAMES Project Foundation is governed by a duly elected Board of Directors.
2012 marks the 25th anniversary of The NAMES Project Foundation, the international caretaker of the epic AIDS Memorial Quilt. It was in 1987 that friends and family first gathered in a San Francisco storefront determined to find a way to remember and honor the lives of their friends, partners, loved one lost to HIV/AIDS.
Since 1922, NUS has worked tirelessly on behalf of students and students’ unions. Their campaigning work has resulted in many positive changes within higher and further education, improving the lives of thousands of students.
This year (2014), their lead campaign will focus on the impact of violence and objectification towards women students. They will be fighting for better rights for student parents and better representation for women in students’ unions.
The Scottish Women's Convention was set up by the Scottish Executive in 2003 in recognition of the need to ensure women's voices are reaching policy makers. The Scottish Women's Convention works to develop ways in which to ensure women in Scotland can influence the strategies and policies which affect them.
The Scottish Women's Convention is funded by the Scottish Government to communicate and consult with women in Scotland to influence public policy. Through our policy work, round table and celebratory events, the SWC strives to have contact with all women and relevant organisations in Scotland. The SWC provides an effective way of consulting with a diverse range of women and has a network of over 300,000 women including women in Business, Churches, Trades Unions and Voluntary Organisations.

Formed in 1945 as a reorganisation of the Miners' Federation of Great Britain (MFGB), the miners' unions were for much of the 20th century a powerful force not only in the British union movement, but also in British politics. The Nottingham area is significant for the fact that many miners in Nottingham refused to strike.
People working in the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in Cheltenham were banned from belonging to a union by the Thatcher government on 1 March 1984. Following extensive union campaigning, the ban was eventually overturned in 1997.
